Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!! It's been a little while since I've posted. Since it's been Christmas Break my days have consisted of sleeping in, reading, taking a nap, eating food, reading, playing Mario Party 9 with Garrett, reading, eating more food, and sleeping till the next day. I have stayed in my pajamas pretty much the whole time. Well today I decided I wanted to do something different. So I started by cleaning myself up and doing my hair and makeup. (This took a whole hour, because as you can imagine I looked pretty scary.) I started flipping through a cookbook looking for a pancake recipe when a stumbled upon a donut recipe. Well I have learned my lesson.

Don't ever make donuts unless you have someone helping you who knows what they're doing  OR you're home alone and have enough time to hide the evidence and clean up the mess, (at least most of the mess.)

Well I had to call my sister-in-law with a few questions because the recipe was NOT clear enough. Then I realized the darn thing had to chill for 3 HOURS!!!! That is a long time to wait. Then when it was long past noon I tried to fry my donuts. At first the oil was too hot and kept splattering me so I have a few battle scars, (which unfortunately I lost the battle) The donuts were not cooking all the way through. So then I tried to bake them BIG MISTAKE. I won't go into any further detail other than Garrett's dog Katie is probably going to be REALLY REALLY REALLLLLLYYYY sick tomorrow. SHH..... its a secret he doesn't need to know. And as for the kitchen I had enough time to hide most of the mess before my mom got home.

CAUTION: Do not try this at home!!!

P.S. Just learn from my mistake. You'll be happier if you do.

Insane

I have decided that I am not driving to Utah with a screaming baby EVER again. Of course I had fun with my sisters, so Tomena don't be offended. Its not to be taken personally. The truth is I'd rather not go insane from a headache, (and lack of fresh air.) There was enough to worry about without him screaming. Take the G.P.S. for example. We were lost for about 2 hours. We knew that it was time to unplug the G.P.S. when it told us to turn, and there was no road. But overall it was not a bad trip. Especially when Lindor Truffles came to the rescue. The trip was almost perfect, except for a few things. Ben screaming...and  the G.P.S. getting us lost...and  the reason we were in Utah in the first place...and well, maybe the trip was farther from perfect than I thought. But I wouldn't trade spending time with my sisters and cousins for anything else.

Christmas

My favorite holiday of the year is Christmas. And its not because of the presents. I mean its a great bonus, and I love Christmas shopping. But its just the season and the feeling. My favorite memories happened in the Christmas season. I remember waking up in the middle of the night with my sisters and sitting in front of the heater listening to Bing Crosby while watching the Christmas lights blink. White, green, red, blue, and pink lights flashing in the dark of the night on our 10 foot tree. Yes my Dad loves to get the biggest tree that can fit in our house, and we usually had to cut a foot off to fit it in with a star on. We would all cram into our tiny pickup and duck when we saw a cop. When we stopped to get the ticket my dad would get the raspberry and orange jelly sticks covered in chocolate. I don't even know what they're called, but I remember loving them. Oh... who doesn't love sitting in a nice warm house cuddled up in a blanket reading an extremely good book, while sipping hot chocolate  and watching the snow sprinkle (sometimes pour) onto the ground.

P.S. Stay tuned for more Christmas reminisces

Red

Well today has been a great day. It has also been a productive day. This morning I woke up kinda late but that's okay. I know you probably don't want to hear this but I'm very proud. I woke up, couldn't find Garrett anywhere. Which kind of scared me but then I realized he was at practice. Built a fire, cause it was freakin cold. Made apple cinnamon muffins, did dishes, and jammed out to the piano guys. The muffins came out just before Garrett got back from practice, which was Perfect!! :) Then I did some laundry, played a game with Garrett, and now I'm blogging while listening to Taylor Swifts new album Red. It's only 12:35 and I have the rest of the day pretty much to myself. I love Taylor Swift, but its not just because she came out with a really good album. I hate those people who love her because of one song and then when that song gets old they start bashing her. No I'm not like that at all, so if that thought ran through your head you were so very wrong. This is one of my favorite albums though, because I can relate to almost every song. It's like she knew what I was going through and wrote a song about all of my experiences. Especially "I almost do," "I knew you were trouble," and "Treacherous," If you haven't heard those songs you should. But that's pretty much all I have to say. So I hope your having a great day like me.
